Meet Our Founder

Jennifer is a Navy daughter and a Navy mom. Three of her sons serve as United States sailors, and her daughter is a Marine. She’s been to enough military graduations to know what they mean, and at too many of them, she noticed the same thing: sailors and Marines crossing the stage without their parents in the stands.Jennifer knows firsthand how meaningful that moment is. She also knows that for some parents, the cost of being there can make attending graduation feel impossible. So she decided to do something about it.

How Sea Sisters Started

What started as one Navy mom’s heartbreak over empty seats became a mission to fill them. Jennifer founded Sea Sisters as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit to help military parents get to graduation when the cost of being there is out of reach. By helping with travel and lodging, Sea Sisters puts more parents in the stands on one of the proudest days of their child’s life.

Sea Sisters is a family mission. Jennifer’s three sons serve as United States sailors, and her daughter is a Marine. They’ve lived the graduations, the deployments, and the distance that comes with military life. That experience is the foundation Sea Sisters was built on.
